Mariah Carey is an absolute legend with a voice that is known and loved around the world. That’s why it absolutely pains me to hear things like her performance at a concert in Japan this weekend. I don’t know if she’s just ill or maybe overly stressed or something, but it was… not good, and that’s an understatement. In fact, it was downright painful to watch.
During ‘Always Be My Baby’, those high notes she’s known for just weren’t coming, and she’s been absolutely panned online ever since. I feel sorta bad for Mariah – she’s trying to hold onto what she once had, but if her voice is starting to go, homegirl needs to retire on a high note and let us remember the good times, because this just isn’t right. She forgot the words to some songs (or so it seemed), the mic stand broke… it was just all around disastrous.
