Y’all know I love me some Kate Winslet, so it’s pretty excellent news that she’s finally getting her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The ceremony will take place in LA next Monday, which is a shame since I’m only there until Saturday and I’d have stopped by to say hello. You know, because we’re BFF.
Ana Martinez, producer of the Walk of Fame ceremony, said in a statement:
“We are so happy that Kate Winslet will be here on our famous Boulevard of Dreams receiving her well-deserved star.
“We’ve seen Kate shine in her roles and fans around the world have been anxiously waiting for this special day to come.”
LOL, I mean, I think it’s nice and all, but “anxiously awaiting this special day” is a bit of an overstatement. Does anyone actually care about the Walk of Fame? I’m sure the stars are pretty stoked about it and maybe see it as an acknowledgment of their achievements, but you know, it’s not everything.
In any case, glad to see Kate being treated like the royalty she is. She’s the 2,520th star to get her star.
2520th jeez it sounds like it’s harder to not have a star than it is to have one at this point. If it was still a really honor to get one wouldn’t an Oscar winning actress have one before or say Jennifer Aniston got one? Besides is it not true that the celeb has to pay $20k – $30k a yr to have the thing kept clean? That’s some freakin honor
