Oh, Britney Spears. What a dear, precious soul. Her single, ‘Work Bitch’, is doing relatively well, it seems, and she’s over in the UK promoting it right now on a variety of programs. Most recently, she stopped by Alan Carr’s Chatty Man (airing tonight), where she talked about the innocent motivation behind the single’s title. You see, Britney’s not all that into profanity – she uses the word “bitch” in a loving way!
“I don’t call everyone… that word. I just use it as, it’s like in respect to the gays as a term of endearment.”
“It’s like a street slang for everyone, you know, like you get to work, that’s what you do when you get to work and it’s like, cool.”
I call people bitches all the time. If someone annoys me, it’s “THIS BITCH”. So… I guess that’s not actually a term of endearment, but it’s also not the sexist brouhaha many try to turn it into. Live it up, BritBrit. Embrace your potty mouth, so long as you can actually have an intelligent conversation and be well-spoken without it. Wait, on second thought…
I kid. I love Brit! I also think it’s hilarious how she’s always talking about “the gays” – but hey, I guess you gotta know your audience (and I think that’s the only crowd still hanging on, there).
Ahhhh, no. I totally stan for Brit, and I’m a straight female.
