Ok, this is going to be kind of hard to do, so bear with me, all right? We’re going to talk about Josh Hutcherson, the adorable dude who plays Peeta in The Hunger Games. I finally got to see the movie yesterday (I’ll probably talk more about that later, but hey, so good, right?), but I’m still in the middle of the second book. My BFF is obsessed with the series, and since she knows me well and knows how to get me excited about things, she went on and on about how “oh, Emily, there’s the thing between Katniss and Gale and Peeta, and I know which guy you’d prefer, and you’re going to love him soooo hard!” I can’t be sure yet because I still haven’t seen too terribly much of Gale, and PLEASE NO SPOILERS, but I feel like it’s going to be Peeta.
And that’s how we get to the topic of Josh Hutcherson! I loved him a lot in the movie, and when I found this little interview he did, I knew I was going to have to share it with you guys. Much like his costars Jennifer Lawrence and Liam Hemsworth, he seems like a pretty wonderful person:
On the success of the film: “It’s crazy, we were pushing it so hard and we worked really hard to film it and we obviously had high hopes, but nothing like this. It’s beyond my wildest dreams.”
On being a superstar: “I just got back to Los Angeles [from his hometown in Kentucky], I haven’t had much interaction with humans yet. I’m curious what that’s going to be like.”
On the next movie: “They have a release date already of November of next year, probably start shooting end of summer, beginning of fall.”
But does he speak with Jennifer Lawrence? “Yeah, but we haven’t talked about the opening. I texted Jennifer about basketball…the only conversation we’ve had is about the Final Four. We talk about the movie so much, we don’t have time to do that with each other.”
Yeah, I know, it’s nothing incredibly special. He didn’t say anything that incredible, even though it does make me smile that he and Jennifer Lawrence text about basketball. But I have a really, really good feeling about this Josh Hutcherson character, I really do.
What about you guys?
Agreed! He is growing on me every day! His Conan interview where he talks about loving NSYNC was so adorable! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X1Ez1sDrN0k
He seems very well spoken.
He was my favourite back when he was a little boy and did Bridge to Terabithia with AnnaSophia Robb and Zooey Deschanel.
