Poor Roman Polanski. All he did was drug and rape a 13 year old girl and then spend the next three decades hiding from the law in Europe! Why should he have to stay at this resort in Gstaad, Switzerland with an electronic ankle bracelet on? That seems so unfair! And his whole family had to go with him too! OK, I’ll lay off the sarcasm sauce and try and get real for two: Roman Polanski is doing his jail time in this gorgeous, exclusive resort in Gstaad that absolutely anyone in their right mind would kill to go to. For an average person, it would probably seem like the experience of a lifetime to spend several months inside of an exclusive, insanely expensive resort, lazing around, watching TV, working on whatever project they’d like and spending time with family. But for superstar filmmaker Roman Polanski? This is his idea of jail. This is where he chose to spend his court-ordered house arrest.
How is does this punishment fit the crime? How was this location approved by the courts? Should he not spend the time at his own home, at least? The entire scandal has been so much in the abuser’s favor that it appalls me. His family, on the other hand, looks about as miserable and embarrassed as you’d expect them to be.
I guess you don’t have to “kill” to go there. Just rape.
Pretty sure he lives in France and doesn’t have his own home in Switzerland since they arrested his perverted ass as soon as stepped foot in the country…
Yeah that’s why she was saying it is ridiculous that he gets to choose this RESORT, not his home, as his place to serve house arrest basically until they decide whether or not to extradite him to the US. Instead of waiting in jail he gets to be out on house arrest and stay at a fancy exclusive ski resort.

My question is why on earth did it take 30-plus years to extradite him? He has probably traveled around the world to countries with which we have extradition treaties. Now even his victim wants the case dropped.
1) As Think Straight Points out, Roman Polanski does own the three story chalet in Gstaad. It’s apparently his family’s winter holiday home.
2) Roman Polanski is not currently doing “jail time.” While it’s certainly a luxurious place of home confinement, the Swiss chalet where he’s currently “confined to” is ultimately a place where he’s been allowed to stay, pending the outcome of extradition hearings.
3) Very related to # 2: Roman Polanski is not currently in jail for breaking Swiss laws. The fact that he’s even in Swiss custody is little more than an international courtesy. His trips to Switzerland have been historically filled with pleasure, relaxation, business, and return flights to France.

Polanski has had a ‘contract’ with the abused for years. Anything that she says is subject to skeptisism. Furthermore RAPE nee CHILD RAPE is a State matter. It has nothing to do with ‘wanting’ to prosecute or not. It’s a felony. You can’t skoot out of it because the abused doesn’t want to deal with it.

roman polanski also got assigned to a corupt judge who held a press conference before he judged. the judge didnt listen to any of the experts opinions, which there were a lot of because of the publcity involved.
all of the EXPERTS said that HE WAS NOT A SEXUAL PREDATOR! THAT HE WAS NOT A PEDOFILE!
at the time i know for a fact there was a huge amount of rape reported, and a very small fraction of it was even looked into.
