One Day at a Time‘s MacKenzie Phillips has struggled with addiction issues for decades. After hearing just a snippet of what Phillips shared in her recent Oprah interview (airs tomorrow!), I think it’s clear where her problems stem from.
She told Oprah that her father, Mamas and Papas frontman John Phillips was the first person who ever shot her up with heroin. According to Gossipcop.com, she also had sex with her father. I don’t know if she was an adult when this occurred or if he molested her as a child, but does it even matter?
She also told O about having sex with Mick Jagger, in which he said, “I’ve been waiting for this since you were ten.”
I can’t wait to see this whole interview tomorrow. Mackenzie is plugging her new book, “High on Arrival”.
If this wasn’t all screwed up enough, Phillips’ half-brother Tamerlane gave a quote to Page Six in response to his sister’s allegations:
“My family is and always will be a decrepit bowl of dog urine compared to Nityananda of Ganeshpuri. That is how great Nityananda is.” The Indian yogi died in 1961. “Worship Nityananda, not the Phillips family. Nityananda can protect you,” said Tamerlane.

McKenzie Phillips was young when here father attacked her, but McKenzie was just as sick as her father was, she allowed this sexual thing to happen, McKenzie allowed this to go on for 10 years! She told Larry King there were times when she liked the sex with her father and times when she didn`t like it. She was only 13 years old when her fatheer started to do this to his daughter. Don`t forget her father fathered his daughter that he is having sex with. How sick and disturbing is this? !!!! McKenzie is to blame just as much as her father is wrong.

So I’m thinking it probable happened 31 yrs ago. How old is she now? Valerie is 50ish so I’d think Mackenzie is around there too? Maybe a little older?
I feel for MacKenzie Phillips, she has lived a hard and difficult life, but I am skeptical of her claims about her father fucking her.
He has been dead since 2001 and prior to that she has always talked about her drug use with her dad and how he got her started and all (he even admitted what he did) but never a peep from her during all that time about any sexual abuse. For a while there you couldn’t shut her up when it came to her youth and all of the problems she faced.
I think she didn’t make the claim while her father was alive because he would be able to refute it, and argue that he had no shame that he shot his own daughter up with heroin…..so would admitting you fucked her be any worse? She never even said shit about it after he died. I think she just made it up to sell her book. No one would buy her book if it were just the same old tired story about drug use.
But you know what? Being that the man was a dirt bag and he did do so many horrible things to his family, even if the sexual abuse is a lie, and yet people believe her and it ruins his legacy (whatever that is).

I have no idea how many women in the US have been raped. Perhaps Australia has remarkably different percentages. But as a former Womens Officer of my university and a Legal Aid Solicitor I think an estimation of 35% of women being raped is conservative. I doubt I wen’t through a day where one victim didn’t come into my office, and I practised in a nice country town, not some ghetto. Similarly, a huge percentage of my contemporaries (all private school educated, and from white collar families, mind you!) have been raped. Not to mention myself on two seperate occasions by different people.
As rape victims don’t wear badges, we don’t really stand out. And you don’t seem the type to have a lot of contact with women, so I guess you just don’t know. No hard feelings.
